Search investment should help the right buyers understand where your product fits and decide whether to evaluate it. When content brings traffic but its contribution to qualified demos or opportunities is unclear, more publishing may not be the next priority.
I’m Chuck Price, Founder of Measurable SEO. I bring senior SEO and content/search strategy advice to B2B SaaS teams that need clearer priorities for how their product is explained, discovered, and evaluated through search.
Understand the product before expanding the content plan
The starting point is the product’s actual use cases, the organizations it serves, and the people involved in evaluation. A category term can attract a different audience from a workflow question or a comparison query. Those differences should inform the pages you invest in.
Identify who uses the product, who evaluates its technical fit, and who approves the purchase. Where those roles differ, examine the questions each needs answered before the next step.
Working with marketing, product, and sales, the review can establish which buyer questions the site needs to answer, which product claims require verification, and where existing content is disconnected from what the product does. This step sets content and search priorities only. Implementation is separately scoped, and your product team validates technical claims.
Help buyers move from a problem to a product evaluation
Problem and use-case pages should explain the workflow or need the product addresses without implying capabilities it does not have.
Category and product pages should give an evaluator enough context to understand fit, constraints, and the next step.
Comparison and evaluation content needs accurate, supportable distinctions. Integration, deployment, or other technical details belong only where your product team can verify them.
The decision may be to improve and connect existing pages, consolidate overlapping material, or address a missing evaluation question. It should follow the product and buyer evidence, not a target publishing volume.
Set priorities your teams can act on
- Separate technical access or indexing issues from positioning and content problems.
- Identify dependencies on product expertise, developers, analytics, or sales operations.
- Explain the business relevance and uncertainty behind each recommendation.
- Assign implementation and review responsibilities before work begins.
Check what AI answers convey about the product
A scoped assessment can sample how answer experiences describe the category, use cases, and product fit. It can record inaccurate descriptions, cited sources, and gaps between your verified product information and the answers observed.
Mentions, citations, recommendations, and website referrals are separate signals. None alone proves pipeline contribution. Review the AI-search assessment and measurement approach; it complements the SEO priorities rather than creating a separate content program by default.
Connect search evidence with the buying process
Keep buying stages distinct. A signup, demo request, qualified demo, opportunity, and revenue represent different stages. Agree with your sales team on what qualifies a demo or opportunity before interpreting search performance.
The measurement work can assess whether pages and recorded conversions connect meaningfully with sales qualification. Where a trial exists, it should be evaluated in the context of that product’s actual journey; a trial is not assumed to be the right conversion for every SaaS business.
A buyer may return through several channels or involve colleagues before an opportunity develops. Reporting should explain attribution gaps and timing limits. It should not present a traffic increase as revenue growth or infer causation from a single interaction.
Senior advice within your delivery structure
My experience includes years advising B2B SaaS companies as a senior SEO and content/search strategy adviser. Read about my background and published work.
I can work with and oversee your internal teams, developers, agencies, and vendors. Your product specialists validate product details. The agreed scope identifies any engineering work required and assigns implementation and approval responsibilities.
Choose the engagement around the work ahead
Strategic Search Review: clarify investment priorities before committing resources. I lead analysis, prioritization, recommendations, and the leadership readout. Implementation is separately scoped.
Focused Improvement Project: address a defined search, conversion, paid-search, or measurement problem. I lead diagnosis, strategy, implementation direction, QA, and reporting. Execution may be performed by me, Measurable SEO resources, approved vendors, or your existing team, depending on scope.
Fractional Search Leadership: I own strategic priorities, decisions, team and vendor direction, QA, measurement, and reporting. Execution may be handled by Measurable SEO, your teams, agencies, or other approved resources.
Compare the engagement options or review ongoing search leadership. Scope and pricing are proposal-based.
Questions about fit
Can you work with our content agency and product team?
Yes. I can help establish priorities, direct execution, and review quality with your existing teams and vendors within the agreed scope. Product claims still require validation by people who know the product.
Do you need access to our CRM?
That depends on the measurement question. The proposal should define the appropriate records and access. Where the available data cannot connect search activity to qualification or opportunities, the reporting should state that limit.
Will the engagement include paid search or conversion work?
Only where it supports the agreed problem and is included in scope. Those capabilities support the search investment decision rather than forming an automatic bundle.
Discuss your SaaS search priorities
Describe your product, who evaluates it, and the decision your team is trying to make. Include what you can currently measure and where that picture breaks down. Discuss Your SaaS Search Priorities or explore a Strategic Search Review.
