Fractional Search Leadership for Teams That Need Direction

Fractional Search Leadership provides senior strategic ownership of SEO and AI search priorities without requiring a full-time search leader.

This is not a task-based SEO retainer. The role is to set priorities, direct execution, review quality, and hold the search program accountable to business objectives.

I’m Chuck Price, Founder and lead strategist of Measurable SEO. I own strategic priorities, decision-making, vendor and team direction, quality assurance, measurement, and reporting.

When the gap is leadership

This engagement may fit when your organization has people working on search but needs clearer priorities, coordinated decisions, or a senior owner who can assess the work.

  • Leadership receives activity reports but still needs to decide where to invest.
  • Internal teams, developers, and agencies need a shared direction.
  • SEO and AI search priorities compete for resources without a clear decision process.
  • Implementation needs consistent QA, measurement, and follow-through.

What I own—and what your team retains

My remit is strategic ownership. Execution and the authority to approve budgets, access, and material changes must be clear in the agreed scope.

Decision rights, access, execution and approvals are defined in the engagement scope.

Set priorities that guide implementation

Priorities should explain the business problem, why the work matters, the dependencies involved, and how it will be assessed. The objective is a direction your leadership and delivery teams can use to make decisions.

SEO and AI search form the core remit. PPC strategy, conversion improvement, analytics, and measurement may support the work where agreed; the engagement does not automatically include every channel or implementation task.

Work with your existing team and vendors

I can work with and oversee your internal team, developers, agency, and other approved vendors. Execution may be handled by Measurable SEO, client teams, agencies, or other approved resources.

Strategic ownership does not mean that I personally perform every implementation task. The scope should identify who executes, who reviews, and who can approve changes.

Measurement, QA and reporting

I own measurement and reporting direction, review implementation quality, and use the evidence available to guide subsequent decisions. Reports should make the work, its status, and the decisions required understandable to leadership.

Measurement needs to distinguish observed performance from interpretation. An increase in visibility alone is not proof of qualified demand, and a reporting framework should make important limitations clear.

Agree a working cadence that fits the scope

The proposal establishes scope, responsibilities, pricing, and the working cadence. Meeting frequency, reporting intervals, access requirements, and the process for approvals and escalations should be agreed before work begins.

No fixed hours, full-time availability, standard meeting schedule, or unlimited execution capacity is promised by this engagement description.

When a shorter engagement is a better starting point

Choose a Strategic Search Review when you first need analysis, priorities, recommendations, and a leadership readout. Implementation is separately scoped.

Choose a Focused Improvement Project when there is a defined problem to resolve, with diagnosis, strategy, implementation direction, QA, and reporting led by me.

Compare the three consulting engagements. Fractional leadership is for an ongoing need for senior ownership, not an automatic next step after every review.
